May Referrals are FINALLY on the way

In case some of you thought I broke my promise to update referral info... I promise I didn't. May referrals are very, very late due to the Swine Flu, or H1N1 Influenza if you want to be official. The CCAA didn't officially say that referrals were held due to the flu, but that is the unofficial word. In any case... I was frustrated, angry, sad, and just plain discouraged when the news broke about referrals being held. And poor Brian had to live with me. Anyway... we finally heard some rumors this week that referrals are on the way, and our agency is expecting to get a package, that they think is referrals, tomorrow afternoon. They don't have an official cutoff date, but most of the rumors are saying that it is 3/14. I'm not too disappointed because I wasn't even sure if they would get that far, and they did. What's really exciting, and I'm still not quite used to saying it, is that WE ARE NEXT! There is only one day left before ours, so I think it is finally safe to believe that we will get our referral in the next bunch of referrals.

Now, the real irony is that my next question is When?. In most "normal" months, you can pretty much bet that referrals will be at the end of one month, or the beginning of the next. Since the May referrals were so late arriving, it really makes the when question a little trickier.

Scenario 1: The referrals arriving tomorrow were matched before the Swine Flu pandemic, and the CCAA is working on matching families with babies that will be sent at the beginning of June.

Scenario 2: Due to the delay, the next group of referrals will not be sent until about 30 days from now.

Scenario 3: May will be considered skipped and the next referrals will not arrive until July.

Needless to say, we are pulling for one, but of course, I have no real idea of when to expect our referral. I truly would have thought I would know something a little more definitive when I got this close, and FINALLY provide a good idea of when. But I still can't. I guess this thing really will keep us guessing to the very end! Oh well, I guess I've made it 38 months... what is another few weeks right?!
