A Pleasant Surprise

When we first submitted our paperwork to China (which was actually sent to Great Wall Three years ago today), we were given a LID of 3/20. So, since then, that has been "THE" date that the CCAA needed to match. That is what I have told EVERYONE, that is the date I used for my (very nerdy) referral predictor model, and that is the date that would change my life. So, imagine my surprise when my agency informed me that they had given me the wrong date three years ago!

Apparently, in 2006, LIDs were communicated verbally, and apparently, through a number of people. So, much like the telephone game, the message gets a changed once it is communicated to the final party. In this case, that was Brian and I. Well, our referral counselor recently reviewed our paperwork (probably because we are getting closer) and noticed that there were three LIDs listed. This prompted her to request our official LID from the CCAA, which is now provided in writing, and she found that our LID is actually 3/16. I know, it's only 4 calendar days (2 business days) closer than 3/20, but at the rate of referrals, this could mean referral one month earlier. This, along with the fact that we are in our referral month, gives me a little more hope that we will bring Hana home in 2009.

Please keep checking each month... I promise I will update at least once a month. It's an easy promise to keep now that I finally have promising news to share!
